Your connected AI assistant can now use Refer a Lead. Use search_referral_teams to find a team by name, service area, or category, then refer_lead to send one of your contacts to that team. You can also email or text the lead’s details to someone who isn’t on Sure Send.
You choose the same things you choose in the app: which contact details to share, a note, update terms, and a referral fee. If the assistant doesn’t set a fee, your saved default referral fee is used, just as the app pre-fills it. If the lead isn’t in Sure Send yet, the assistant can pass the lead’s name, email, and phone instead. Sure Send adds it as your contact and refers it in one step, or uses the existing contact if that email or phone is already in your account.
Referrals are sent as you, from the team you connected with, and follow the same rules as the app. You can only refer contacts you can see. If your team requires approval for referrals, a referral from a non-admin waits for an admin to approve it. The receiving team is notified as usual.
Turning it on
Referrals from connected AI tools are off until a team owner or admin turns on Allow referrals from connected AI tools in Settings → Referral Settings.
The same page now has a Refer a Lead switch for the whole team. It’s on for every team. Turning it off hides the Refer button and stops referrals being sent from the app, the API, or connected AI tools. Referrals your team receives aren’t affected.
If your team requires a signed fee agreement, a connected AI tool can’t attach one, so it can’t send referrals with a fee. Send those from the app instead.
