What’s New
Gmail, Google Workspace and Yahoo will not enable auto-forwarding to an address until someone
opens a confirmation link they mail to it. Your lead email address had nowhere to read that
message, so forwarding setup stayed pending forever and there was nothing to explain why.
The confirmation email was also run through the lead parser, which created a contact named
after the provider’s automated sender.
Fixes
- The confirmation is now shown to you in Settings → Profile Settings, right under your
lead email address: the link to open, and the confirmation code if the provider included one.
It stays available for seven days after it arrives. - Only you see your own confirmation. It appears for the member who owns that lead email
address and for nobody else on the team. - A confirmation email no longer creates a contact. It is recorded as what it is instead of
being parsed as a lead, so no more contacts named after a forwarding robot. - Only links from the mail provider itself are shown. A confirmation link is surfaced only
when it points at the provider’s own domain, so a look-alike message cannot put an unrelated
link in front of you.
